Beatles on Itunes, legal music buyers rejoice

I was always rather confuzzled when i couldn't get any of The Beatles album artwork on my ipod, i was upset because i wanted to have the ability to scroll past such covers as Sgt. Pepper or Revolver on my ipod touch.  I was too lazy to look up the fact that The Beatles weren't on itunes and therefore their album artwork wouldn't be too.  That all changed recently because now they are officially on Itunes, their songs amounting to over a Gigabyte of memory if one were to purchase the whole discography. A music buyers wet dream, it is also my wet dream too.........that's it

A Friend in Need

http://www.nonprints.com/painting/A_Friend_in_Need_5194.html
I'm not the artsy-type.  I almost failed art in elementary school(i couldn't use scissors to save my life).  Even today the only art i can do are weird oblong headded people and the occasional phallus(in emergencies only), sometimes these end up looking the same.  As for looking at art, well the only art i really look at is the Starry Night copy at the bottom of my staircase every morning.  However there is one painting that i see that makes me giggle and say "This is the work of a God."  And that painting is called A Friend In Need.  Most of you know it as Dogs Playing Poker.  Everytime i look at it i just marvel at the beauty and simplicity of it.  I mean check out that link, they're playing poker like real people play poker!  With Tobacco and Alcohol readily at hand and one cheating douchebag.  Most of them appear to have their own separate personailities.  The one on the far left is a chuckling son of a bitch(literally), he's just there to have a good time and pretend he's people, then we go into the more serious players like the one in the middle.  He's not there to fuck around, he wants your dog money so he can go and gamble it away on the people races.  That's what dogs would do in this parallel universe, right?  Then there's the dog with the pipe, he's simply having a bully time.  By stereotypical deduction i would say he's the most educated of the gang.  Unlike that prick with the cigarette in his mouth.  That dog makes me become physically violent. He's winning too which is the sad part.  And he's showing off the fact that he can hold things with his feet.  I like that this painting does teach a valuable lesson though, never trust ugly people.  Anyway i should probably talk about the way it was painted.  I think its a dandy painting, the setting seems detailed, especially the dogs, but i think i explained that already.  The way the lighting should be in the room appears reailistic based on the overhead light in the room and the time it is(2:05, i'd say A.M.because who plays poker in the early afternoon?)   I do notice that one, possibly two of the dogs don't have collars.  Does this mean they're strays?  If so doesn't that mean they're homeless?  If so doesn't that mean they're penniless?  Who plays poker with broke people? But i digress, i still enjoy this painting very much, its a very relatable painting and expresses the good times that people have.

wtf?

I am a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, so naturally when they lost in the NLCS to the Giants i was pretty upset.  I was also fairly certain that this world series would be watched by practically no body.  My gut was half-right.  While stumbling through Yahoo News i found this article that stated that Justin Bieber would be airing his new music video during game three of the world series.  I understand that the ratings for the world series were supposed to be low but now these games can't even stand on their own merit because most annoying pre-pubescent girls and confused pre-pubescent boys(i might have fallen into this group if this happened when i was six, after all i was a fan of NSYNC) tuned in to see this pretentious douchebag sing a song that a monkey wrote, like literally a monkey writes his songs.  "Oh but John you're so ignorant i bet you'll never be as famous as he is".  One might say.  No i'm not ignorant, i just know a fad when i see one

my review of the social network

when i first heard that a movie about the creation of facebook was going to be in theaters by the end of the year.  My first thought was "what the fuck, there's no need."  However a week or two before it was coming out i began to be intrigued about what the movie would be focusing on.  Finally i decided to see and it and see it i did.  When i left my first thought was "damn, mark zuckerberg is kind of a badass even though he's kind of a douchebag."  The movie basically tells the story of facebook while Mark Zuckerberg(Jesse Eisenberg) is being sued in two separate lawsuits, one from The Winklevoss twins(Armie Hammer) and his former best friend Eduardo Saverin(Andrew Garfield).  David FIncher directs another damn fine movie, although maybe not as fine as fight club but good nonetheless.  The acting was very good and the story is told phenomenally. I must say it was a good time even though i had my doubts

untitled

Last friday marked the 70th birthday of John Lennon, who is one of the greatest musicians that have ever existed on this planet.  At least it would've been his 70th birthday if Mark David Chapman hadn't taken Catcher in the Rye incredibly out of context.  Its a dandy book but the book doesn't make me feel like i should kill Justin Beiber, Bieber's "music" does a good job of producing those homicidal thoughts. But i digress, Lennon's birthday was celebrated all around the world including the strawberry fields in central park.  Lennon's solo work also appears to have been released/released on itunes.  I assume released because Yoko Ono wasn't digitally removed from the album covers.  There were also a bunch of happy birthday youtube videos from the likes of Ringo Starr, i believe and assuming Paul McCartney and other "musicians" such as the Jonas Brothers.  Well as the song goes "No one i think is reading these posts." oh wait, that's not right

New Earth

A new planet was discovered roughly 20 lightyears away.  However this planet discovery is different from other recently discovered is that this planet may be perfect to sustain life.  Specifically human life.  The planet(Gilese 581g) is close enough to the sun so that water wouldn't evaporate but not far away so  water wouldn't completely freeze, just like earth.  It is up to speculation whether or not life may already be on the planet.  Its also upfor speculation whether water is even on the planet.  However it is comforting to know there are earthlike planets out there for the day we have to leave ours

In technology news, the motor company Hyundai  has had to recall a little under 150000 of their Sonata models.  Why?  Because of a problem with the steering wheel that could cause the driver to LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THEIR VEHICLE.  That's a pretty big flaw in a car because i personally like to drive my car on roads not into rivers.  Also shouldn't the steering wheel be something that should be examined a little bit before being sent out into the world? How do you overlook something like that 140000 times?  Not to worry though, it won't affect Hyundai sales according to representatives from the company.  Well that's just good and dandy.  Also this may have been caused by their American manufacturing branch which just goes to show that Americans have not been able to build a car since the Model-T

hello halo.....reach

So in entertainment/technology news Halo:Reach was released to the public last tuesday the 14th.  I didn't really have much of a desire for it until i realized that the last game i bought was last year(Left 4 Dead 2)  so i succumbed to tempation and like a boss went and purchased the game.  I brought him and already inserted the plastic CD into the plastic muncher(i played the game).  After two hours of online, one energy drink and one chocolate chip pop tart i was able to get my own personal review of the game.  The story precedes the events of the first Halo game which came out in 2001 in which the player controls the character known as noble 6.  The game then shows the course of events which sets up the story for the first Halo game.  The multiplayer has been altered from the previous Halo games.  "perks" are available in some game types such as camoflauge or the ability to sprint.  My personal favorite is the jet pack.  Some weapons have been altered such as the battle rifle which used to shoot in 3 round bursts but is now only a oneshot at a time weapon.  New game modes have been added such as headhunter.  In this game for every player killed a skull is released that a player can pick up.  The player gets points by taking the goals to a base that is located around the map.  Overall i think this Halo is the best multiplayer game since modern warfare 2 but it could be trumped by the new call of duty or the next gears of war game.  i also consider Reach to the be the best halo multiplayer game.  The storyline is classic halo and is worth trying to beat in cooperative campaign.

A recent discovery in psychology shows that children whose parents have suffered from post traumatic stress disorder may also have the symptoms of PTSD.  The investigation began when a trait was noticed in children whose parents survived the holocaust.  Scientists and Psychologists began to test to see if this became a genetic trait.  Using rats and isolating them from their parents they were able to reenact PTSD in rats. they then let the rats reproduce and the resulting offspring showed the same symptoms of PTSD.  This is frightening because it shows that we as humans how affected we are by our surroudings and exactly how little we are in control of ourselves

in entertainment news, the movie Machete came out in theatres this weekend and i had the pleasure of seeing it opening day.  After leaving the theatre i stood outside in silence thinking "wow, that was....something."  The plot was nothing unique but that is okay because of its fair share of violence, gore, humor, and nudity throughout, which made the film very enjoyable and entertaining.  Although the ending was.....different.  I won't go spoiling anything.  The cast was very good.  With convict turned actor Danny Trejo as Machete and some rather surprising supporting actors like Jessica Alba and Robert DeNiro.  And lets not forget Steven Seagal as the villain Torrez.  The action was for the most part highly implausible but highly entertaining. Let's just say that the audience be laughing their guts out.  Overall i give this movie a 4/5 simply due to the fact that its wickedly entertaining.

A new breakthrough in the scientific world occurred today.  Is it human cloning? Contact with aliens? A cure for cancer? All of which are wrong. Scientists have discovered the complete, uncut genetic code for..........wheat.  Wheat is one of the most important crops on the planet andthefact that its code has been cracked is beneficial for future society. however i want scientists to discover ways for me to live to 300 or to find the end of the universe.  Apparently wheat took a longer time to be decoded because evidentally wheat is more complicated than humans are.  Then again fruit flies will be one of the last creatures to be cloned due to them being almost as complex as humans so i guess nothing is truly shocking.
